Many people are happy to see spring. However, spring weather causes allergies, and this year’s allergy season will likely be a bad one. Dr. Clifford W. Bassett is the founder of Allergy and Asthma Care in New York. He stated that 30 percent of the places in America already have a high pollen count.

Temperature and weather fluctuations can also cause allergies. Dr. Purvi Parikh is an immunologist and allergist who works in New York. He stated that he is already seeing patients who have allergy symptoms. Dr. Stacey Galowitz is an allergist who works in New York City. She stated that allergy symptoms are getting worse for many reasons.

Increased precipitation and warmer temperatures are some of the things that are contributing to this year’s allergy season. There is also more pollution. More pollution leads to more carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide increases pollen production. Warmer temperatures increase the amount of time that growing season lasts.

The southeast region of the United States has already been hit hard by pollen. Warmer-than-usual weather has contributed to this. The Carolinas have a low pollen count due to increased precipitation in the areas. The Atlantic and Northeast region also have a lower-than-normal pollen count. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has not ranked the worst places for allergies in the United States yet. However, they will have a list soon.

There are many ways that allergies can be treated. Inhalers, steroids and antihistamines are some of the treatments that are available. However, Dr. Parikh believes that immunotherapy is the best option for treating allergies.

You can get immunotherapy with the shots or the pills. The shots are more effective than the pills. It is best for you to consult with an allergy doctor in order to determine which one is right for you.
