Life as we know it stands to change drastically for the better once the Hyperloop becomes a normal part of our everyday lives.
Think of how many people have to brave crowded city trains and buses as a part of their commute daily, and how many hours of valuable work or relaxation time are spent stuck in gridlock traffic as we try to battle our way home, only to wake up the next morning and do it all over again. Is there hope for anything better, or will traffic holdups and lengthy commutes be an ongoing part of life in the 21st century?
Well, there’s one man out there who believes that we can improve transportation: Shervin Pishevar. Pishevar’s background as an entrepreneur and venture capitalist had him perfectly positioned to leap on the opportunity to change our world for the better when it presented itself.
It was one fateful trip in January of 2012 that saw Pishevar seated with Elon Musk on a flight, giving the two entrepreneurs the opportunity to talk.
Shervin was, by this point, aware of Musk’s ideas in the area of the Hyperloop; but, at the time, Musk was too busy working on his projects with SpaceX and Tesla. However, Pishevar continued to push, encouraging Musk to publish his early ideas so that at they could be further explored. Musk took him up on this proposal, and in August of 2013 brought about the publication of the Hyperloop Alpha paper. It was only a matter of time before Pishevar had formally come alongside Musk to create Hyperloop Technologies.
The rest, as they say, is history.
With some hard work, Pishevar pulled together a team of accomplished researchers and inventors from all around the globe. He continued to raise investments for Hyperloop Alpha, positioning the project for maximum success by employing the brightest minds in the technological space to continue to propel the project’s momentum forward.
Fast forward a few years and the HyperloopOne made serious waves internationally. Now, they’ve got a formal agreement in place with the Russian government that would see the construction of a Hyperloop in Moscow. This would radically change the way residents of Moscow commute, reducing the time it takes to move between locations in a way we’ve never experienced before.
Other examples of where the Hyperloop could be created include the Eastern US.
Currently, the 225-mile trip between Washington D.C. and New York takes three and a half hours by train to complete. But with the Hyperloop in place, this same trip would take a mere 29 minutes.
Recently, HyperloopOne has welcomed none other than Richard Branson onto its executive team. This formal partnership sees Virgin joining forces with Hyperloop One to form a global strategic partnership, becoming Virgin HyperloopOne. This partnership has a focus on passenger and mixed-use cargo service.
Hyperloop’s website clearly defines their audacious but achievable goals:
“Hyperloop will reinvent transportation to eliminate the barriers of distance and time. Hyperloop One will move people and goods, and unlock unprecedented value for governments, businesses, and consumers.”
With such lofty aspirations, we can only hope their groundbreaking work continues to bring the kind of radical advancements in technology that we all stand to benefit so greatly from.
Can you imagine how drastically our world could change once the Hyperloop is implemented as the norm? There would be many benefits for the overall economic health of many nations, as rural areas open up with historical connectivity and families plant themselves further away from the city without sacrificing precious time to lengthy commutes. It’s like something out of a futuristic sci-fi movie-only real.
It’s scary to imagine that if Shervin Pishevar and Elon Musk hadn’t been seated on the same plane together on that one fateful day, the Hyperloop may have remained just a grand idea, rather than the life-changing asset it’s proving to become.
Shervin Pishevar’s background has him incredibly well positioned to be a part of this revolutionary, world-changing technology. As a seasoned entrepreneur within the tech industry, Pishevar has been involved at ground level with lucrative start-ups that include Aardvark, CabanaApp, Dollar Shave Club, Trello, and more. These years of experience have positioned him with invaluable first-hand wisdom and insight as to what makes a company grow in a successful, sustainable, and groundbreaking manner.
Pishevar’s investments continue to take a very human focus as he invests in technology that improves keystone functions in our everyday lives. It’s no wonder that the Hyperloop has become his most ambitious project to date, representing the greatest opportunity to change lives all over the world for the better, opening up business, education, relationship and economic benefits and opportunities as a result.
To keep up with Shervin’s thoughts from a front-row seat, you can take a look at his active social media presence to get a sense on the ideas he thinks are worth discussing (and with a track record like his, it may be worth putting money on the areas he’s paying attention to). By bringing together a deep industry understanding and a curiosity about the improvement of the world, Shervin Pishevar has continued to remain on the cutting edge of business and technology start-ups for many consecutive years.
