“India has two types of beef eaters — one who actually loves the meat, but doesn’t necessarily get to eat it, and the other who gorges on rumours about beef.”
The latest victim of Indian cow lovers is Bollywood actor Kajol.
Kajol was trolled online for posting a video of a beef dish that her friend had prepared. Today clarified that it was actually buffalo meat. The 42-year-old actress issued a statement on Twitter, saying she did not want to hurt religious sentiments.
The video was about a feast she had at her friend’s restaurant. In the video, Kajol asks her friend Ryan to explain the dish that he made for. It was “beef pepper water with dry lentils and dry beef”.
In Her Defense:
“A video of me at a friend’s lunch said that there was a beef dish at the table. That’s a miscommunication. What was shown was buffalo meat, that is legally available meat.
“I’m issuing this clarification because this is a sensitive matter that may hurt religious sentiments, which is not my intention,” Kajol wrote.
While Kajol has since deleted the video, thanks to all the trolling, DNA After Hours does have a copy of it on their Instagram.
Kajol’s Instagram post about her scrumptious lunch had trolls going nuts, suggesting that she should be ashamed of being a Hindu and consuming beef.
