Germany’s Head Coach Joachim Leow Admits that Arrogance was a Part of their Downfall.

Germany’s manager Joachim has admitted that arrogance was a part of the reason as to why they have gone out of the tournament at the group stages. The last time this happened was the year 1938. The manager refused to admit whether he will still be the one managing the German team or not. The European championships are set to start in autumn. It’s still not clear if he will be the one coaching Germany during their campaign. The manager insisted that the primary problem started when they played their opening match with a loss. The team lost 1-0 to Mexico in their group stage. The manager confirmed that the team had a great time at the training camp. All the players were cooperating, and the team was generally working okay. He insisted that the friendly matches that they played between Austria and Saudi Arabia were not of excellent quality.

If they faced a stronger challenger, maybe they could have realized their weaknesses, and they could have switched the gears. When they lost to Mexico, things became difficult for them to shift the gears. The team was convinced that when the tournament progressed, they would be able to play better. That only happened in their dreams. Marco Reus, the Borrusia Dortmund forward said that at the beginning of the tournament, he was being rested for essential matches as the team progressed. The German team started the tournament with reckless attacking. The squad pushed forward using the flanks and were mostly leaving Sami Khedira to handle the defense.

The Germans chaotically lost that match. The mistake made them re-think their tactics. The team manager revealed that due to some injuries and bans, they had to make some changes to their line-up. This is the same tactic that they used in the year 2014. A team always starts to gel as the tournament progresses. For a team to have general chemistry, some players have to be taken out and others in. According to reports by the manager, it was not only Mesut Ozil, the player maker that was not performing. The coach took responsibility for that. All his players didn’t perform the way it was anticipated. Joachim Leow had previously extended his contract to handle the national team till the year 2022. He said that it was too early to ask him about his future with the team.
